Coaching approach

Technique first, then everything else

Most players plateau because a fundamental went uncorrected early — a panhandle grip, a flat-footed base, a smash powered by the shoulder instead of the forearm. Those habits get harder to unpick every year they survive.

So the first blocks of the junior pathway are almost entirely grip, footwork and stroke shape, before anyone is allowed to chase power. It looks slower for three months. It compounds for a decade.

Beyond that: small groups so every player gets corrected in every session, a written plan so progress is visible rather than vibes-based, and conditioning treated as part of the sport rather than an optional extra.

You'll also get an honest read at the trial. If a player isn't ready for a programme, or would be better served elsewhere, David will say so rather than take the fee.

Why that matters

What one coach gets you

A single-coach academy sounds smaller. In practice it removes most of what goes wrong at bigger ones.

Nothing gets re-taught

When one coach takes a player from age five to the squad, corrections carry forward. No new coach undoing last term's work because they teach a different grip.

He knows your game

Not just your name — your split-step, the shot you avoid, the habit you fall back on when you're tired. That's only possible when the same person watches you every week.

Advice you can trust at the counter

The person recommending your racket is the person who coaches you with it. There's no commission and no reason to oversell.

One point of contact

Questions about a batch change, a tournament entry or a niggling injury go to one person who already has the context.

Getting started

Four steps, one week

No lengthy admissions process. Most players are training within a week of their first call.

01

Book a free trial

Call, WhatsApp or fill the form. Tell us the player's age and roughly how long they've played.

02

Get assessed on court

A coach runs you through a short session and gives you an honest read on level and fit.

03

Pick your batch

We recommend a programme and batch timing. You pick what works around school or work.

04

Start training

Month-to-month, no lock-in. Your first written 12-week block starts immediately.
